The dosage of Trileptal is:Adults: 50 mg once daily. -Triptan is usually administered orally. The usual dose is 50 mg twice daily. -Triptan may be administered orally as a single oral dose. The usual dose is 50 mg once daily. The dosage strength is 50 mg twice daily.
•Known hypersensitivity to oxcarbazepine or any of its ingredients. •Uncontrolled high blood pressure. •Older adults (See Warnings). •Children: For children aged 6 years and over the dosage should be at least 4 mg per kilogram of body weight as effective as 50 mg of oxcarbazepine. For adult patients the dose should be as high as 80 mg per kilogram of body weight. The maximum recommended dosing frequency is once per day.
•Seizures; •Serious skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome; Toxic epidermal necrolysis (very rarely); acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis; acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis; severe hepatic failure; severe renal failure; active thromboembolic disease; and life-threatening allergic reactions such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) or systemic lupus erythematosus (SLEE), lupus, mixed dysidding ejmys (allergic reactions), and acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP).
Pregnancy:The recommended dosage of Trileptal during pregnancy is 0.625 mg/kg body weight. However, the use of higher doses may cause harm to the developing baby and may result in miscarriage.
